Good morning, Mets fans!

MLB insider Hector Gomez reports that shortstop Juan Uribe Jr. is expected to sign with the White Sox. The son of former big leaguer and 2015 Met Juan Uribe was first linked to the White Sox back in January. The elder Uribe spent five seasons with the White Sox, winning a World Series with them in 2005.

The Mets finished off a series win over the Rockies with a 2-0 triumph on Sunday afternoon thanks in large part to Taijuan Walker’s seven shutout innings. They now head to San Francisco to take on the Giants in a three-game set. The two teams played a four-game series at Citi Field in mid April, with the Mets taking three of the games. David Peterson (1-0, 1.89 ERA) has been summoned from Triple-A Syracuse to make today’s start against Alex Cobb (3-1, 5.61 ERA). First pitch is set for 9:45 pm EST.
