José Quintana was set to make his Mets debut on Wednesday, but Buck Showalter said Sunday that Quintana will be pushed back a day because of his recent battle with the flu. Justin Verlander will start Wednesday on regular rest, while Quintana will take the hill on Thursday.

After two failed attempts at a sacrifice bunt, Luis Guillorme delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th inning and the Mets beat the Dodgers 2-1 to snap their four-game losing streak. Max Scherzer allowed just one hit and three walks, striking out six in seven shutout innings. Trevor Gott allowed an RBI to Mookie Betts to tie the game in the eighth, but Brooks Raley retired the only two batters he faced to keep the game level. David Robertson, pitching for the first time in nine days, tossed two scoreless innings to earn the win. Additionally, the Mets gave all fans who had a ticker for Sunday’s game a digital voucher for a ticket to any Monday-Thursday home game this season as a thank you.

The Mets have an off day today before welcoming the White Sox to town for a three-game series. This is Chicago’s first trip to Citi Field since 2016. The last time these two teams faced off, the Mets swept a three-game series at Guaranteed Rate Field in July of 2019.

2008: Trailing 8-6 in the ninth inning, David Wright hits a game-tying two-run homer off Reds closer Francisco Cordero. Carlos Delgado delivers an RBI single, and Fernando Tatís caps off the rally with a run-scoring double as the Mets pick up right where they left off before the All-Star break, winning their 10th game in a row. Delgado and Tatís both hit two-run homers off Johnny Cueto, and Wright drives in four runs on the night. The Mets are now tied for first place in the NL East.

2016: Jacob deGrom tosses the first complete game of his career, a one-hit shutout at Citizen’s Bank Park as the Mets down the Phillies, 5-0. Phillies hurler Zach Eflin records the team’s lone hit, a single in the third inning. Curtis Granderson and Asdrubal Cabrera both homer in support of deGrom.

2022: Using their compensation pick for not signing Kumar Rocker the year prior, the Mets select Georgia Tech catcher Kevin Parada with the 11th pick in the MLB Draft. Parada is coming off a big sophomore year for the Yellow Jackets, hitting .361/.453/.709 with 26 homers and 88 RBIs in 60 games. The Mets also select shortstop Jett Williams out of Rockwell-Heath High School in Texas with the 14th pick. The Mississippi State commit hit .411 in his senior year.
