Jon Morosi of MLB Network reported Sunday that Shōta Imanaga is still drawing interest from at least five clubs and is expected to finalize a deal soon. Teams have until Thursday evening to negotiate with the Japanese lefty before his window expires.

The Mets have agreed to a two-year, $28 million contract with left-handed pitcher Sean Manaea. The deal includes an opt-out for Manaea after 2024. Manaea spent 2023 with the Giants, recording a 4.44 ERA and 3.90 FIP with 128 strikeouts in 117 2/3 innings. The big lefty posted a 3.60 ERA/3.10 FIP after May 30 when he started throwing his sweeper. He also added two miles per hour to his fastball, averaging 93.6 MPH.

Jon Heyman of the New York Post reported that Harrison Bader‘s contract with the Mets includes some incentives for his performance. Bader will earn an extra $50,000 if he’s an All-Star and if he wins a Gold Glove, Silver Slugger, or MVP award. He can also get an extra $100,000 if he wins World Series MVP and $50,000 if he wins NLCS MVP.

The Dodgers have agreed to a one-year, $23.5 million contract with outfielder Teoscar Hernández. The power-hitting righty struck out a career-high 211 times in 2023, but still clubbed 26 homers in 678 plate appearances and appeared in 160 games for the Mariners. He’s a two-time Silver Slugger and made the All-Star Game for the Blue Jays in 2021.

The KIA Tigers announced they have signed right-hander Wil Crowe to a $1 million contract. Crowe pitched in five games for the Pirates in 2023, striking out nine batters and issuing nine walks in 9 2/3 innings.

Franmil Reyes is close to signing with the Nippon Ham Fighters of NPB. Reyes has slugged as many as 37 homers in a season at the major league level but has struggled over the last two seasons. In 2023, Reyes appeared in 19 games for the Royals, striking out 24 times in 59 at-bats.

2003: Gary Carter is elected to the Hall of Fame in his sixth year on the ballot, alongside another former Met, Eddie Murray. Carter fell 11 votes short of enshrinement in 2002 but received votes from 78% of voters this year. Murray meanwhile received support from 85% of voters in his first year on the ballot.

2005: The Mets sign Korean lefty Dae-Sung Koo to a one-year deal. The 35-year-old has spent the last four seasons playing in NPB for the Orix Blue Wave after a dominant eight-year stretch in the KBO.
