Per James Fegan of The Athletic, a Maricopa County  judge has accepted White Sox manager Tony La Russa’s guilty plea to reckless driving. His one day of jail time will be served via home detention. His attorney told the court that La Russa completed alcohol counseling in Scottsdale, Arizona. Per Jon Seidel of the Suntimes, La Russa was also fined $1,383 and 20 hours of community service time.

Per Jon Heyman of MLB Network, Chicago Cubs right-handed pitcher Yu Darvish seems out there in trade talks, but it may be an example of a willingness to consider anything. Coming off a second place Cy Young finish and a big second half in 2019, executives rate Darvish’s trade chances as “very low.”

Per Jeff Passan of ESPN, someone suggested that Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Tyler Glasnow tries to get angry before his starts. To do this, he would look at pictures of one person. He pulled out his phone and showed Passan. It was a picture of Martin Shkreli.

Per Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe, Daniel Bard is the winner of the Tony Conigliaro Award for 2020. The award is given by the Red Sox to a player who has overcome adversity. Attached to the twitter post was more from the press release.

Per Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Chicago Cubs have signed infielder Matt Duffy to a minor-league deal that will pay him for $1 million if he makes their big-league team with $500,000 in incentives. He was in the Rangers and Yankees organizations last season.

Per Jeff Passan of ESPN, the San Francisco Giants and John Brebbia have agreed to a one-year, $800,000 deal, a source told ESPN. Brebbia, 30, was with St. Louis in 2019 before undergoing Tommy John Surgery and missing the 2020 season.

The LA Times released an article giving appreciation to Jairo Castillo, who was climbing the ranks in the scouting world and becoming a champion for Mexican baseball players before passing away earlier this month from COVID-19 at the age of 31.

Major League Baseball and the Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Monday that Howie Kendrick, 2019 World Series hero, announced his retirement after 15 seasons in the major leagues.

The Toronto Blue Jays announced on Monday that they have received MLB’s 2020 Allan H. Selig Award for Philanthropic Excellence. The award recognizes their COVID-19 response plan, supporting those affected by the Pandemic across Canada.
