Saturday was mostly a quiet day in the world of baseball, but things perked up in the evening. The Mets offered a qualifying offer to Michael Conforto and Noah Syndergaard, while other offers were made around baseball.

Late Saturday night, Syndergaard tweeting the following GIF reaction.

Slowly but surely, the offseason is starting to kick into gear.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network reported that free agent Rich Hill is planning to pitch in 2022. The 41-year-old had a .86 ERA over 158 2/3 innings pitched in 2021 with the Rays and Mets.

Per Mark Berman of FOX 26 (KRIV), according to “MLB sources,” the Houston Astros offered shortstop Carlos Correa a five-year, $160 million contract. The free agent would average $32 million per year. He’ll likely get more in free agency.

According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network and Audacy Sports, the Blue Jays are extending a qualifying offer to Marcus Semien.

Jon Heyman also reported that the Blue Jays recently made a multiyear offer to Steven Matz that he did not accept. With that, he became a free agent. The Blue Jays did not end up deciding to give Matz the $18.4 million qualifying offer.

Per Baseball America, a brawl broke ouut in Arizona on Saturday during an AFL game. Canaan Smith-Njigba and Josh Winckowski were at the center off it.
