Bill Ladson of MLB spoke with Ron Swoboda about one of the best managers in Mets history Gil Hodges. They spoke at length about the newfound appreciation Swoboda had looking back on the 1969 season.

MLB posted the some of the safety precautions that they will be implementing for the upcoming season to keep players safe including but not limited to, players and personnel being tested every other day, players receiving temperature/sympton check twice per day, and antibody testing once a month. Matthew Boyd, pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, spoke with CNN about trying to return to play during this pandemic given his health background having asthma.

San Francisco Giants President Farhan Zaidi denounced the Scottsdale, Arizona city councilman Guy Phillips. He used explicit words to express his loathe for the councilman in an article on The Athletic from Andrew Baggarly.

One of the new rules coming into play for the 2020 MLB season is the “runner at second” rule where a runner will be placed on second base during extra inning games in an attempt to speed up extra inning games to save the energy of the players. Many do not seem to be a fan of this rule but one of the rules’ biggest supporters is the Milwaukee Brewers GM David Stearn. Stearn spoke to the Brewers beat reporter for MLB, Adam McCalvy about his content about implementing his new rule.

Los Angeles Dodger Andrew Toles was arrested on June 22 on a misdemeanor charge of trespassing. He refused to leave the area and was found sleeping behind Key West airport. Gwen Filosa reported the news in the Miami Herald.

The All-Star Game is most likely not happening for the 2020 season, so the MLB All-Star Game will likely be held in Los Angeles at Dodger Stadium in 2022 according Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times. The All-Star Game is is already scheduled to be held in Atlanta for 2021, so the Dodgers’ new year to host may be in two years from now.

Al Leiter announced on Twitter that he is going to be live on YES Network on June 28th at 8 p.m. for a “Subway Series Special” with former Mets and Yankeel legends like Bobby Valentine, Todd Zeile, David Cone, and more in the “Joe Torre Safe At Home Subway Series Special.”
