Good morning, Mets fans!

The Gold Glove Award finalists were announced Thursday. Tomás Nido was picked in the catcher position, but Francisco Lindor, Brandon Nimmo, Jeff McNeil and Luis Guillorme were questionably left out. The full slate of finalists can be found here.

In the ALCS, Framber Valdez stepped up and took charge on the mound for the Houston Astros, as he struck out nine Yankees batters through seven innings to lead the Astros to a 3-2 win and take a 2-0 series lead over New York in the American League Championship Series.

Astros infielder Alex Bregman knocked a three-run homer to put Houston on top, and while Valdez did not walk a batter, did give up two unearned runs when Bregman botched a Giancarlo Stanton ground ball and threw it away. The series shifts to Yankee Stadium for games three and four this upcoming weekend.
