Edwin Díaz took a positive step towards his return on Tuesday.
The Mets’ closer throwing to bases and fielding his position for the first time since his ACL surgery, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

Díaz faced batters on Feb. 15 for the first time.
He threw live batting practice on Tuesday, facing both Jeff McNeil and Pete Alonso.
