After telling reporters his thumb was okay, Yoenis Cespedes returned to the lineup last night just two days later. Cespedes had a big day, homering and picking up three hits.

Jeurys Familia returned to the team last night after missing one game to attend a memorial service for his father-in-law.

Sandy Alderson told reporters catcher Kevin Plawecki is at least two more weeks away from returning.

Alderson said Tomas Nido and Jose Lobaton have “done a nice job defensively.” He added that a significant upgrade is not available on the market and he doesn’t find it doable.

On Matt Harvey partying in LA, “Usually I get upset if the report is unexpected .. I guess the short answer is no,” Alderson said.

Steven Matz threw yesterday, he said he felt fine and doesn’t expect any issues. He is still in line to pitch on Saturday night.

Mets third base prospect David Thompson was put on the disabled list Monday after being hit in the left hand with a pitch on Sunday. Tony DeFrancesco said he had a hairline fracture in his hand and would head to New York to see a hand specialist.
