Good morning, Mets fans!

Last night’s NL Wild Card game featured a pitchers duel between Adam Wainwright of the St. Louis Cardinals and Max Scherzer of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Due to high pitch counts, Scherzer and Wainwright were both removed from the game somewhat early after allowing an earned run, as Wainwright threw 5.1 innings compared to Scherzer’s 4.1 innings pitched.

Going into the bottom of the ninth inning, the game was tied 1-1. When Chris Taylor stepped up to the plate with two outs and Cody Bellinger on second base, he crushed the ball into deep left field to seal the 3-1 victory for the Dodgers.

Los Angeles will play the San Francisco Giants tomorrow night in Game 1 of the NLDS at 9:37 PM astern time. The Giants will be starting Logan Webb while the Dodgers have not yet announced their starter. Meanwhile, both ALDS’s begin tonight.

Now let’s get into the morning briefing.
