Mets infielder Robinson Cano hit his first home run of the winter ball season for the Estrellas Orientales. He tallied a total of three hits in a 8-0 blowout win against the Gigantes de Cibao. Cano, who is expected to return after a full season suspension after testing positive for PEDs, will be looked upon take a roster spot with the Mets for the 2022 season.

Williams joined the organization in 2019 as a pitching coach and held that same position with the St. Lucie Mets during the 2021 season.
