Good Morning, Mets fans!

David Peterson completed his rookie season with a great seven-inning outing, helping the Mets stay alive in Thursday night’s 3-2 win over the Nationals. Edwin Diaz, despite giving up a ninth-inning RBI, clinched the save for New York.

Tonight, the Mets face the Nationals once again with Rick Porello (1-6, 5.46 ERA) set to start against Nationals ace Max Scherzer (4-4, 3.67 ERA).

Porcello had his best outing with the Mets in his last start and hopefully, he can keep that momentum going. With both the Phillies and Marlins struggling as of late, the Mets have a slightly higher chance of a playoff berth, even if still slim.

Let’s see what happened yesterday around the MLB!
