Mets manager, Mickey Callaway spoke on a variety of topics on Wednesday as he met the media to kick-off spring training.

Callaway welcomes the pressure put upon himself and his team in 2019 by general manager, Brodie Van Wagenen, also acknowledging that he will be more prepared in 2019 after a year on the job that saw some miscues in his first go round.

The Mets manager also put to rest any speculation of a competition for the fifth-spot in the rotation, cementing Jason Vargas to fill that role.

Callaway also advised that Jeff McNeil will see the majority of his playing time in the outfield the way things are currently laid out for the Amazins’.

Mets could be looking for a new Spring Training home according to the TCPalm.

Yoenis Cespedes also found his way to camp on Wednesday.

Robinson Cano has also reportedly taken over the locker formally belonging to Mets Captain, David Wright.
