Good Morning Mets fans!

Today, Noah Syndergaard (2-0, 3.29 ERA) will look to defeat the Cardinals in their last regular season matchup in 2018. He’ll be opposed by Cardinals ace Carlos Martinez (2-1, 1.42 ERA), who’s enjoyed a terrific season so far. The final game of the series will be streamed on SNY and 710WOR at 1:15 P.M.

Michael Wacha and Steven Matz both started the night off strong, but both struggled once the third inning came along. The Mets scored first on a broken-bat Jay Bruce single in the top of the third. But the Cardinals tacked on three more unearned runs in the bottom of the inning, highlighted by a Marcell Ozuna tie-breaking single. After  Matz was removed later in the inning, Corey Oswalt came in to make his Major-League debut. Oswalt had a solid debut, permitting four runners to score over the final five and two thirds innings.

Wacha settled in, lasting for six innings and only permitting one run. Jon Brebbia saved the game with a rare three-inning save.

Tommy Pham left the game in the third inning due to an “accidental head laceration”
