Good morning Mets fans!

I have a love/hate relationship with tomorrow.

On the bright side, the Nationals, a.k.a the bane of my adolescence, could lose the World Series. While their baby-shark celebrations and the dancing skills of Juan Soto had me rooting for them at a point, I’ve come to the conclusion that their many inter-division losses outweigh whatever dances come about in D.C.

On the other side, tomorrow could bring the last game of baseball until March. With a win, the Astros could win their second-ever World Series, their second championship in three years, halting Major-League games until three months into 2020.

In Game 6, Stephen Strasburg will look to stop the Astros’ hot bats. He’ll match up against Justin Verlander, who in his last start became the all-time leader in postseason strikeouts.

Joe Ross was announced as Scherzer’s replacement yesterday and promptly gave up a pair of two-run homers to put the Nationals in a 4-0 hole

Scherzer suggested that he might be able to pitch Game 7 assuming the Nationals get that far, but considering how much pain he was in last night, it’s anyone’s guess if he’ll physically be able to.
