The offseason officially begins today for all 30 MLB teams.

Last night, the Houston Astros defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers to win the World Series 5-1. The Astros knocked out Yu Darvish after 1.2 innings and they never looked back. Charlie Morton pitched four innings of relief to finish out the game and be the winning pitcher.

This is the Houston Astros first World Series victory in franchise history. Former Met Carlos Beltran also got his first WS ring.

Astros outfielder George Springer won the MVP award as he tied Reggie Jackson and Chase Utley with the most home runs in a World Series with five. He also set the World Series record with eight extra base hits and 29 total bases.
