Good morning, Mets fans!

The Mets are in Atlanta to begin a four-game series with the Braves at Truist Park tonight. The last time the two teams played, the Mets took four of five games at Citi Field, including a doubleheader sweep. The Braves have won six in a row since then, but remain 5 1/2 games back of the Mets in the NL East. Carlos Carrasco (13-4, 3.76 ERA) will continue to keep his hot streak going against Spencer Strider (6-4, 3.11 ERA) in the series opener. First pitch is scheduled for 7:20.

Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton is set to go through a full batting practice today and could begin a rehab assignment this week, Aaron Boone said. Stanton has been sidelined with an Achilles injury since July 24.

Ken Giles has declined an outright assignment and elected free agency. The righty was designated for assignment by the Mariners earlier this week. The 31-year-old finally made it back to the majors this year after undergoing Tommy John Surgery in 2020, but a shoulder injury forced him back onto the shelf after just five appearances.
