Good morning, Mets fans!

It was another fantastic weekend to be a fan of the Amazins. Pete Alonso hit two home runs against the Rockies on Sunday, which moved him into sole possession of second place on the franchise all-time home run list with 243.

Alonso surpassed David Wright for second all-time, and is nine home runs away from Darryl Strawberry to become the Mets’ all-time home run king. Wright recorded and posted this message for Alonso after his accomplishment:

Alonso was not the only hot bat in the lineup this weekend. The team swept the Rockies, including an emphatic 13-5 victory on Sunday. In that last game, Jeff McNeil had three hits, two home runs and four RBIs. Francisco Alvarez joined the party with a 450-foot home run to center field, the second long ball of the year for the struggling young catcher.
