Could the Mets pry away one of the Rays dominant and young arms for a package without Francisco Álvarez? “Probably not likely” says Jacob, but Tampa’s plethora of arms still make them a good target to add some much needed pitching depth:
The second any pitcher goes into their arbitration years their risk of being traded away from the Rays, I love both Shane Mcclanahan and Tyler Glasnow and certainly think If they are available then you see what’s out there, but I think you’re looking more at the depth guys who are more at the back of the Rays hands. The Rays are in the enviable position of having too many players for their 40 man roster, so they’ll have to make some trimmings there which the Mets should try and take advantage of.”
