Mets fans an all-new episode is here!

This week we’re joined by MMO’s very own Rivka Boord to discuss the recently announced Luis Severino and Joey Wendle signings, Rivka lays out her dream offseason plan for the Mets (spoiler: it includes Yoshinobu Yamamoto), the latest on Pete Alonso, and much more!

Will the Severino signing pan out for New York? For Rivka, paying for upside isn’t the smartest investment, but a backend starter should only be the first of many arms brought to Queens this offseason:

“I think If Severino is being signed as a number five starter, it’s a little bit of an overpay at $13 million for a pitcher who had a 6.65 ERA last season with a history of not being able to stay healthy, but has an upside of being potentially a number two so overall not bad. My main hold-up with deals like this would be, however, overpaying for upside. I personally don’t believe in it, and would rather pay for concrete performance…but overall I think we need to see how the Mets address the pitching overall this offseason before we can really put a grade on this signing.”
