Mets fans, an all-new episode is here!

This week Mike and I give our favorite takeaways from Carlos Mendoza‘s introductory press conference and dive into what Mendoza’s coaching staff could look like, Kodai Senga‘s has a strong awards push, we touch on the latest from the Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani sweepstakes, Pete Alonso trade rumors have begun, and much more!

Did David Stearns make the right hire for his first move running the Mets? Only time will tell, but for Mike, Wednesday’s press conference was a clear indication that Mendonza is not your typical first-year manager:

“This is the first big move for David Stearns as the President of the Mets, and this is something Stearns is hoping that he got right because these two guys are attached for at least the next three years. As far as Mendoza, the press conference went well, as you would expect, and it seems like he and the Mets are off to a good start. One thing that stood out to me was just how genuine he was about everything. Whether it was his family, being the second-ever Venezuelan-born manager, how he was going to play the young players, how he’ll make decisions as manager, etc., it made you feel like he would definitely do well with the media, which is a big part of managing in New York.”
