Mets fans, an all-new episode is here!

This week Mike and I breakdown the Mets disappointing first half: poor starting pitching, an overworked bullpen, and an inconsistent offense…who should share the blame? We also discuss the few bright spots so far in 2023, with the emergence of Francisco Álvarez leading the way, and Mike updates us on the newest Mets draft picks from Day 1 on Sunday.

Will the Mets be pure sellers at next month’s trading deadline? For Mike: the next few weeks will determine Steve Cohen and co’s plan of action:

“I think it’s really going to depend on what happens in the next two or three weeks. Like how the team looks, how Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander look, and how many games they can win in that time and if they can get closer to around four games back. If they fall back to eight or nine back, I don’t think they will haver much choice other than to sell guys like Tommy Pham, David Robertson, and any other expiring veteran contracts the Mets have like Mark Canha or even Daniel Vogelbach IF anyone would want him. I don’t think they will end up selling any stars like Scherzer or Verlander, in part because those guys are underperforming to their contracts and the Mets would not get equal value.”
