Mets fans, an all-new episode is here!

Mike and I recap the disappointing Wildcard series against the San Diego Padres, discuss what lead to the Amazin’s abrupt postseason exit, how should the front office handle this crucial offseason, and much more!

With so many key players from the 2022 team set to become free agents, how important will this winter be for the future of the Steve Cohen led Mets? Mike believes it could impact the franchise for years, and possibly decades to come:

“It’s a lot to think about in a week’s span, the Mets went from potentially winning the division to now being out of the postseason with this massive offseason looming…this is the type offseason that people could be talking about decades from now, that’s how important it is. Not only do you have Edwin Diaz, Brandon Nimmo, and Jacob deGrom set to hit the open market, but then you have Chris Bassitt who is also a very good starting pitcher, as well as Carlos Carrasco, Taijuan Walker, Seth Lugo, Adam Ottavino, and Trevor Williams just to name a few…that’s a SIGNIFICANT amount of guys that you have to replace just to try and get back to that 101 win mark, which is going to be a lot of money. I know that Cohen is going to spend and I don’t doubt that, but I believe the Mets are roughly at $160 million payroll (assuming deGrom opts out) and it will add up quickly.”
