Mets fans, an all-new episode is here!

This week Mike and I recap the exciting Dodgers series, dive into Pete Alonso‘s recent funk, Adam Ottavino and Starling Marte‘s impact on the 2022 Mets, Jacob deGrom was brilliant again, and much more!

With Darin Ruf‘s struggles since his trade to the Mets and September now here, it’s puzzling to Mike that the club once again declined to call up prospect Mark Vientos for an offensive boost:

“September call up’s were today and the Mets decided to go with Adonis Medina and Deven Marrero…and no Mark Vientos. It’s puzzling, and I know Buck Showalter said that with Luis Guillorme out they wanted a backup infielder, which is all well and good and I’m not getting on Marrero, but there is no reason to have him at the big league level just to be a backup infielder that’s not going to play unless someone gets injured. Marrero can’t hit, he hasn’t hit at the minor league level all year, so with the Mets currently struggling to score runs and Ruf’s struggles, it doesn’t make much sense to waste a roster spot on someone who brings no offensive value.”
