Mets fans, an all-new episode is here!

This week Mike and I are joined once again by the Mets director of amateur scouting, Marc Tramuta!

Marc had some great discussions with us about 2019 first round pick and new big leaguer Brett Baty and his make-up, the differences between scouting high school and college ball players, we dive into the team’s tremendous 2022 draft, look at the state of the Mets farm system, and more!

We asked Marc If there’s more motivation for him when the big league club is winning or in a rebuild, and his answer was pretty simple:

“No, I want to be in this position (winning). I’d much rather us be winning then constantly thinking you’re in a rebuild…I think with this ownership group, Steve [Cohen] has given our department and pretty much every department all of the resources so it’s up to us to produce. Tommy [Tanous] and I talk to our staff about this a lot, every team has pressure to perform because this is a ‘what have you done for me lately’ business especially scouting, and we have to do well every year…you may have a draft that doesn’t go well, but you can’t have two in a row, you have to be good more often then not or you won’t be there for long.”
