Mets fans, an all new episode is here!

This week we’re joined by New York Mets radio announcer and broadcaster Wayne Randazzo!

Wayne and I recap the two-game sweep of the New York Yankees and discuss Max Scherzer‘s dominant start to his Mets career, Wayne give his take on when Jacob deGrom could soon make his season debut, we preview what the trade deadline could look like for the Amazin’s, and more!

Pete Alonso has gone from slugger to MVP candidate in 2022, and I asked Wayne what it’s been like to watch the first baseman’s rise to one of the most fear hitters in the game today:

“Pete’s really turned into a good hitter, we’ve seen him take his base hits to right field more and more this year and not necessarily trying to hit home runs or try and do too much in certain situations. It’s one thing to have the power that he’s shown but his batting average has remained pretty high this year and he’s really come into his own in clutch situations. The RBI’s stand out considering he leads the major leagues and very likely set the Mets record [for RBI’s in a season] this year…he’s 40 away from tying it, and with however many games there are left If he only breaks that record by one or two runs, it would probably be a pretty disappointing finish for Alonso and he’d still end up with about 125 RBI’s, so he’s certainly on a path for an historic season.”
