With the recent reports of the Mets interest in star free agent Trea Turner, could we actually see the former Washington National in orange in blue? Mike believes that with the Steve Cohen Mets, anything is possible:
“From the people I’ve spoken to, this has been the buzz for the past 24 hours or so…the Mets really like Trea Turner, and they’re going to be involved. I actually don’t think that it just hinges on Nimmo, I think there’s a reality (a slim one) that the Mets sign both of them, If they do re-sign Nimmo I don’t think that it necessarily take them out of the Turner sweepstakes…we’re living in Steve Cohen’s world now, not the Wilpon’s. Turner can play second base and has played centerfield in the past in Washington, he’s going to be one of the top players on the market and you can make him fit with the Mets.”
