Once again it falls upon all Americans to take a pause from the daily grind in remembrance of all the brave men and women that have made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives for our country. We at Metsmerized Online honor their bravery on this Memorial Day.

We also honor all the men and women of our Armed Forces who continue to serve our country and defend the American way of life.

The Mets, in conjunction with the USO of Metropolitan New York, will host their eighth annual Military Appreciation Day today. The USO Show Troupe will perform today’s National Anthem.

A Flyover by two U.S. Navy fighters from VFA-37 in Virginia Beach will take place after the Anthem and the U.S. Army Black Knights Parachute Team from West Point will jump into Citi Field to deliver the first pitch.

A reenlistment ceremony for 53 military personnel will take place prior to the game and children of military personnel will lead the crowd in the pledge of allegiance.

At 3:00 PM all MLB teams will pause for a moment of silence.

Remember, real heroes don’t wear capes, they wear dog tags. God Bless all our veterans for their unwavering courage, integrity and patriotism. A special shout-out to my brothers and sisters at the Brooklyn VA.
