The New York Mets head for high ground in Denver tonight, for the start of a weekend series with the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.

Bartolo Colon (10-11, 4.58) opposes rookie right-hander Jon Gray (0-0, 2.40) in Friday’s 8:40 PM series opener.

The Mets have won eight straight games vs. Colorado dating back to May 4, 2014, including going 4-0 earlier this year (August 10-13) at Citi Field. It’s the club’s longest win streak vs. one team since they won nine straight vs. Baltimore which was just snapped on Wednesday.

After being swept by the Pirates, the Mets almost lost a pair against Baltimore if not for a comeback win on Tuesday. At the same time, the Nationals were able to gain only half a game against the Mets in that span.

The Mets look to get everything back together tonight as they go out to Colorado after sweeping the Rockies earlier last week.
