The New York Mets will try to complete their first ever season-series sweep of the Colorado Rockies this evening at Coors Field.

Making his first major league start, RHP Logan Verrett (0-1, 2.82) will oppose Rockies right-hander David Hale (3-4, 6.17) in Sunday’s 4:10 PM finale. The Mets are 6-0 against the Rockies this season.

This time however, the Mets only hit one homer (Uribe), and 8 Mets players had multiple hits. The Mets leaped out to a 3-0 lead before the Rockies brought it back to 3-3. Then the Mets batted around without an out and jolted to a 11-3 lead.

Logan Verrett will be making his major league debut as a starter today in an attempt to stretch out Harvey and others to last deeper into the season. Between the Mets and Rangers this year he has pitched 11 games with a 2.82 ERA over 22.1 innings and with the Mets he has pitched 13.1 innings over 7 games with a 0.68 ERA. He is 4-2 with the 51’s this season over 16 games including 9 starts with a 3.57 ERA. The only Rockie he has faced in his limited major league career is Jose Reyes who is 0-1.
