The Mets had some great pitching last night, but their offense was spent from the previous night and couldn’t really do much of anything. Wheeler gets the start for the Mets tonight. On the season he is 9-9 over 28 games and 164.1 innings with a 3.45 ERA. Over his last starts he is 2-1 over 24.0 innings, 28 K’s, with a 3.00 ERA. Wheeler has never faced the Reds in his career, and has never faced anyone on the Reds roster.

On the other side of the field, Mat Latos will be getting the start. He is 5-4 over 15 starts this season and 96.1 innings on the year with a 3.46 ERA. He is coming off of two poor starts where he allowed 9 ER over 12.0 innings. He allowed 5 ER over 13.2 innings against the Mets last year. The Mets have the following numbers against Latos:

  • Wright 2-14, 2B, HR
  • Duda 3-11, 2 2B
  • E Young 3-12, 3B
  • Centeno 0-3
  • Lagares 0-3
