The Mets return home tonight after winning six straight series to open up the season. The Mets haven’t faced an NL East opponent since playing the Nationals and Phillies on the road to open the season – and now the Mets will play their next four series against NL East teams (Phillies, Braves, Phillies again, and the Nationals). On top of that, the Mets are about to play 11 games in 10 days before their next scheduled day off.
The Phillies are on a bit of a hot streak themselves, winning their last four games, which has improved their record to 10-10 on the season and they now have a positive run differential (+12). The Mets, who have won seven of their last ten games, have a run differential of +33.
