Notes

Jeurys Familia won’t be with the team on Sunday for the series finale at Petco Park. He’ll be attending a memorial service for his father-in-law, who passed away recently.

The Mets had a streak of 57 straight games with a starting pitcher who had never played for another major league team snapped last night when Jason Vargas took to the mound. According to Elias, it was the fourth-longest streak of its kind in franchise history.

Michael Conforto has reached base safely in all 19 games he’s appeared in this season. It is the second-longest active streak in the majors and it is the longest streak of his career. Seven Mets (eight times) have started a season by reaching base safely in 20 or more straight games, last done by Carlos Beltran in 2009 when he reached in 25 consecutive games. John Olerud holds the franchise mark, reaching base safely in 30 consecutive games to begin the 1999 campaign.

Lets Go Mets!
