The Mets got exactly what they needed out of Bartolo Colon last night to help them take the first of three against the Nationals in DC. Colon had a strong outing and was backed by a 5-run Mets inning highlighted by a three-run homer from David Wright. Yoenis Cespedes also homered and now leads the league.

The Mets have won four in a row and are 5-5 in their last 10 contests. New York is 13-10 on the road this season and are 3-1-3 in road series.

Asdrubal Cabrera is 6-for-his-last-10 (.600) with runners in scoring position dating to May 8. Cabrera has hit in six straight games, going 8-23 (.348) with five RBI.

Yoenis Cespedes is hitting .444 (8-18) with three doubles, three homers and eight RBI in four career games at Nationals Park.
