Notes:

Matz will make his second start of the spring this afternoon. He worked 1.0+ inning in his Grapefruit League debut on Feb. 27 vs. Houston, where he allowed five runs earned on three hits with two walks and one strikeout. Matz worked a perfect first inning before allowing the five runs and walking two in the second inning.

Yoenis Cespedes is scheduled to play in his fourth Grapefruit League game today and play in left field. He is 3-for-9 in his previous three games with one homer and three RBI. He hit 17 home runs with 42 RBI in 81 games for the Mets in 2017.

Brandon Nimmo is leading off and playing center field in today’s game. He is batting .417 (5-for-12) with one double, one triple, one homer and four RBI in five games so far this spring. He batted .260 (46-for-177) with 11 doubles, five homers and a .379 on-base percentage in 69 games for the Mets last season.
