Seth Lugo will make his first major league start tonight. He has appeared in nine games in relief for the Mets, going 0-1 with a 2.65 ERA. Vegas this year hasn’t been the best to him this year posting a 7.73 ERA over 21 games, 14 starts and 73.1 innings. But last year he posted a 4.33 ERA over 5 games and 27.0 innings. This will be his first time facing the Giants and no one on the Giants has faced him in a major league game.

The Mets bats draw Johnny Cueto tonight who is 13-3 over 24 starts and a tie for the league lead in complete games at 4 (2 shutouts) while posting a 2.97 ERA. In his last four starts he’s 0-1 and the team is 1-3 as he has allowed 15 ER and 22 K’s over 24.1 innings of work with a 5.55 ERA. The Mets missed Cueto earlier this season but faced him in the World Series last year where he pitched 9.0 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 ER. The Mets have the following numbers against Cueto:
