The Mets were able to get on the board in the series last night. Thanks to a terrific offensive performance sparked by Pete Alonso (2 HR, 5 RBIs), the Mets emerged victorious 9-4. Today, to try to get a series split, the Mets turn to Trevor Williams in the series finale.

Dodgers Lineup

Trevor Williams has pitched in nine games, including four starts, for the Mets this season. He has totaled 27 2/3rd innings pitched with a 3.58 ERA, 3.65 FIP, 1.193 WHIP and a 112 ERA+. Williams is coming off of a strong start against the Nationals where he held them scoreless for five innings, scattering three hits and two walks.

Since his one bad start on May 21st, where he allowed four runs over four innings, he’s allowed no runs over 8 2/3rd innings. Last year he got a brief relief outing against the Dodgers where he held them hitless over two innings. The Dodgers have the following career numbers against Williams:

Mets Lineup

The Mets’ bats close things out in Hollywood against Julio Urias. Like everyone else on the Dodgers, Urias is having a great year. Over ten starts and 53 innings he has a 2.89 ERA, 4.50 FIP, 1.113 WHIP and a 144 ERA+.

He’s coming off of his second worst start of the year against the Pirates where he allowed four runs over six innings via eight hits and a walk. If he’s had one weak point, it’s been home runs. He’s allowed nine of them this year, include two in his last start and four against Philadelphia on May 14th. He has a 1.5 HR/9 rate, his career rate is 0.9.

Urias made one start against the Mets last year he allowed no runs over five innings. He allowed two hits and two walks while striking out five. The Mets have the following career numbers against him:

Tylor Megill made his first rehab start for Double-A Binghamton. He pitched 3 2/3rd innings allowing two runs and three hits while striking out five. He did not issue any walks, but did allow a solo home run. Megill threw 53 pitches.
