The Mets conclude their terrific first half of the season today! The Mets have battled through injuries throughout 2022 and more recently have survived Atlanta’s awakening. We are about to head into a week celebrating the Mets All-Stars that have made this season wonderful, but it’s not just the All-Stars on the team that have supported the Mets this season.

The Mets’ bats will get a look at Adrian Sampson tonight. Over six games and 27 innings, Sampson has a 3.33 ERA, 3.48 FIP, 1.111 WHIP and a 128 ERA+. As a starter, he has pitched 21 1/3 innings over four starts with a 4.22 ERA.

In the month of July, so far, he has had one good start where he allowed only one run over 5 2/3 innings against he Brewers sandwiched between two starts where he allowed a combined eight runs over 10 2/3 innings. The Mets have the following career numbers against him:

Major League Baseball announced that first baseman Pete Alonso, second baseman Jeff McNeil, outfielder Starling Marte and RHP Edwin Díaz were named to the 2022 National League All-Star team. It was announced yesterday that McNeil will start the game at second base.
