Only one more week to go…

The New York Mets travel to Jupiter on Sunday to take on the St. Louis Cardinals at 1:05 PM. (MLB Network)

Dillon Gee will take the hill for the Mets and will be opposed by left-hander Marco Gonzales.

Daniel Murphy had five at-bats in a minor league game on Saturday, although he didn’t run the bases. Murphy has been dealing with a strained hamstring. Reports say that Murphy will be confined to minor league games so the Mets can backdate any potential 15-day DL stint as much as nine days into spring training.

Vic Black, who has been out with shoulder weakness, tossed 24 pitches off a mound on Saturday and said he felt fine afterwards. Black wants to play in games beginning on Wednesday, but understands the team may be more cautious. On Saturday, both Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling commented that they saw Black and he looked like he was favoring his shoulder and not throwing fluidly.
