The Mets look to take the series today against the Brewers as they play game three of their four game set. The Mets got a third consecutive good start from Matt Harvey last night, but the offense took a slumber instead of swinging the lumber and the game went into extras tied at one. The Mets were able to push across a run in extra innings and the Mets were able to take the game thanks to some sloppy play by the Brew Crew.
New York has won six in a row vs. Milwaukee dating to 2015 and eight of its last 10 match-ups. The Mets swept the Brewers in a three-game series, May 20-22, earlier this year at Citi Field and are 5-0 vs. Milwaukee this season.
The Mets are 25-5 when they score four or more runs and 9-21 when they score three or fewer. The nine wins when scoring three or fewer runs is tied for the fourth most in the majors.
Relievers Jeurys Familia and Jim Henderson will not be available to pitch tonight, Terry Collins told reporters. Familia has pitched and earned a save in the last three games. Setup man Addison Reed will hold down the closer role tonight. Reed has a 1.88 ERA and 0.94 WHIP with one save in 28 2/3 innings pitched this season.

The Mets turn to Logan Verrett who is 3-3 over 18 games and 3 starts this year with a 3.22 ERA over 36.1 innings. However, his last start wasn’t good at all as he allowed 7 ER over 2.2 innings in Colorado. Last year he recorded two clean innings against the Brewers allowing nothing but a walk.
