The New York Mets will host the Atlanta Braves at First Data Field on Sunday as the Grapefruit League winds down to just five more games on the schedule. RHP Matt Harvey gets the start today and will be opposed by RHP Matt Wisler for the Braves in a 1:10 PM matchup you can watch on PIX11.
Matt Harvey took a step forward during his last start on Monday. He allowed three runs on seven hits while striking out four and tossing 74 pitches in 4.1 innings. His velocity creeped up to the 93-94 MPH range and topped off at 96 MPH. This was an improvement over his previous start when he was at 91-92.
“Best stuff I’ve seen so far,” manager Terry Collins said after that game . “We were looking at two big keys today. One was maintain his delivery and second was better command. And we saw both.”
