
Yesterday’s Game – The New York Mets beat the Houston Astros 11-3 on 17 hits from 13 different players including a home run from Neil Walker for the second straight day. Lucas Duda knocked in two runs with a double in his spring debut. Noah Syndergaard also made his Grapefruit League debut with two scoreless innings. Rafael Montero threw two more scoreless innings giving him six this spring with eight strikeouts.
Today’s Game – RHP Jacob deGrom will make his spring debut for the Mets this afternoon against RHP Joseph Musgrove for the Astros at The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches. Also expected to pitch for the Mets are Sean Gilmartin, P.J. Conlon, Chase Bradford, Ben Rowen, Paul Sewald, Logan Taylor, and Corey Taylor.
Who’s Hot: Michael Conforto Is batting .500 (8-16) through six games, second-best in the Grapefruit League entering play today. His 15 total bases are tied for the third-most in the Grapefruit League. Conforto is fourth in the GL with a .529 on-base percentage. He is batting third for the Mets today.
