MMO Game Thread: Cubs vs Mets, 1:10 PM

The New York Mets will try to avoid the second sweep at the hands of the Chicago Cubs this season in an afternoon contest at Citi Field.

Jake Arrieta (7-5, 2.94) will be on the mound for the Cubs, while the Mets counter with reigning rookie of the year Jacob deGrom (8-5, 2.15) in a 1:10 PM matchup.

New York has been held to one run or less 20 times this year. They were shut out for the ninth time overall (seventh at home) this year last night and Terry Collins promised some changes to the lineup.

The Mets try to avoid the sweep today after two consecutive games where the pitching was on point but that bats were no where to be found. The Mets were shutout 2-0 last night in a game where the Cubs scored both of their runs in the 11th inning and the Mets just left runners just about everywhere, except the scoring side of homeplate. Maybe Jacob deGrom can provide some offense tonight and juice the lineup a bit.
