The New York Mets will play their final Grapefruit League game at Port St. Lucie on Wednesday, as they host the St. Louis Cardinals at Tradition Field. Opening Day starter Bartolo Colon takes the hill against Carlos Martinez in a 1:10 PM contest.
Mets starters have had displayed remarkable control during Grapefruit League games. Bartolo Colon, Jacob deGrom, Matt Harvey and Jon Niese have combined to walk just 10 batters in 68.2 innings pitched this Spring. “They’re a staff that doesn’t walk many guys,” manager Terry Collins said.
