The Mets (41-49) continue their four-game series with the Braves (49-41) at Citi Field on Wednesday at 7:10 PM. Dillon Gee (3-1, 2.73 ERA) will get the start for the Mets and will be opposed by Ervin Santana (7-5, 3.93 ERA) for Atlanta.

Today the Mets activated RHP Dillon Gee from the Disabled List and they optioned RHP Gonzalez Germen to Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League after last night’s game. Gee went 0-1 with a 1.69 ERA (two earned runs/10.1 innings) with 18 strikeouts in three major league rehabilitation starts.

Six of Gee’s eight starts have been quality starts this season and from April 16 through May 10 when he was placed on the DL with a strained right lat, Gee had the third-lowest ERA (1.36) in the majors (minimum 30 innings).

The injury was only supposed to sideline Gee for one start, but setbacks kept him out more than six weeks. “It’s dragged on forever. That’s probably one of the most disheartening things…I never imagined it would be this long.”

The Mets have won four of their first five on their current homestand and 10 of their last 15 games at Citi Field. New York has tied its season-high with a three-game winning streak, done six previous times

The Mets have hit a home run in eight straight games at Citi Field, tying the team’s longest home run streak at Citi Field, done twice previously, last, September 27, 2012 – April 19, 2013. The Mets have hit 22 homers in their last 20 games and the 22 home runs since June 17 are the most in the National League and tied for the sixth-most in the majors.

The Mets may be way back still, but they’ve now won 4 of their last 5 and a win tonight would clinch a series victory against the Braves. Last night the Mets rolled with an 8-3 win to get the 4000th franchise win. Everything was going great until the pen came in, but a win is a win. Tonight Dillon Gee comes back from the DL. Before he left, Gee was 3-1 over 8 starts and 52.2 innings with a 2.73 ERA. Last year he faced the Braves four times with a 1-2 record over 27.1 innings with a 2.63 ERA. He has made two starts against the Mets this year and he logged 15.0 innings allowing one earned run, 9 hits and 13 strikeouts. The Mets have the following numbers against Santana:
