RHP Matt Wisler (0-2, 4.26) vs. RHP Matt Harvey (2-3, 4.76)
SNY • WOR 710 AM • ESPN 1050 AM

The Mets had a tremendous first inning last night and then put it in cruise control as they bounced back nicely from Sunday’s loss. The bottom half of the first frame included homers from Wright, Cespedes and Duda. After those four runs, Colon just sliced and diced his way through the game and into the record books by passing Pedro Martinez for second place in wins by a Dominican born player. Tonight, Matt Harvey will look to do the same to the Braves lineup.

Mets Lineup (16-8)

  1. Curtis Granderson, RF
  2. David Wright, 3B
  3. Michael Conforto, LF
  4. Yoenis Cespedes, CF
  5. Lucas Duda, 1B
  6. Neil Walker, 2B
  7. Asdrubal Cabrera, SS
  8. Kevin Plawecki, C
  9. Matt Harvey, RHP

Braves Lineup (6-19)

  1. Nick Markakis, RF
  2. Adonis Garcia, LF
  3. Freddie Freeman, 1B

  5. A.J. Pierzynski, C
  6. Reid Brignac, 3B
  7. Erick Aybar, SS
  8. Matt Wisler, RHP
  9. Mallex Smith, CF

Harvey is 2-3 over 28.1 innings and 5 starts with a 4.76 ERA. He is 2-0 in his last two starts logging 11.0 innings of work posting a 3.27 ERA which includes a 5.0 inning, 7 hit, 2 run performance against the Braves. He still hasn’t exactly looked like Harvey yet this year, so here’s hoping that happens tonight! The Braves have the following numbers against him:

  • Freeman 0-9, 3 K
  • Markakis 0-5, 2K
  • K Johnson 2-5
  • Brignac 1-3
  • Castro 0-3
  • Flowers 0-3
  • Garcia 2-3
  • Pierzynski 3-3

The Mets bats will get a look at Wisler who is 0-2 over 5 games and 4 starts this year pitching 25.1 innings with a 4.26 ERA. He has had one great start this year allowing only an unearned run over 6.2 innings against the Dodgers. Outside of that start, in his other three, he has allowed 12 ER over 17.2 innings. In his rookie season last year he was quite good against the Mets going 2-1 over 3 starts and 21.0 innings with a 2.14 ERA. The Mets have the following numbers vs Matt:

  • Granderson 1-9
  • Duda 1-8
  • Cespedes 2-6, 2B
  • Conforto 3-6
  • Flores 1-6
  • Plawecki 2-5
  • Wright 1-6, HR

Let’s Go Mets!
