The Mets defeated the Texas Rangers this evening at Globe Life Park in Arlington by a score of 5-0.

Offense:

Juan Lagares, fresh off his contract extension, kept on rolling as he went  3-for-4 with a run scored tonight. His average for the spring now stands at a vigorous .371.

Curtis Granderson also stays red hot, as he went 2-for-4 with an RBI double.

David Wright went 3-for-3 with an RBI double and a walk.

Lagares, Granderson and Wright were responsible for 8 of the 10 Mets hits.

Pitching:

Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and tossed four scoreless innings, allowing only one hit and not walking any batters while striking out four.

DeGrom finished spring training with a 2.08 ERA, striking out 25 and walking four in 26 innings. As Joe D. would say, “Boom!”

Rafael Montero, Jeurys Familia, Jenrry Mejia, and Jerry Blevins combined to pitch five scoreless innings out of the bullpen, as the Rangers could only muster up three hits the whole game.

On deck:

The Mets are right back at it tomorrow afternoon against the Rangers, with Dillon Gee squaring off against former National Ross Detwiler.
