The Mets (70-75) defeated the Colorado Rockies (59-86) by a score of 2-0 tonight at Citi Field.

What you should know:

Jacob deGrom pitched an incredible game, going 8 innings and striking out 9 and walking nobody. It was an absolutely dominating game from the rookie who lowered his ERA to 2.62. DeGrom has now pitched 21 straight innings without giving up an earned run.

The Mets runs came from the usual suspects. Travis d’Arnaud was driven in by a Curtis Granderson double and Matt den Dekker scored on a 2-out single by Juan Lagares.

Jenrry Mejia had a very shaky 9th. He loaded the bases before being pulled for Josh Edgin with 1 out in the inning. Edgin struck out Corey Dickerson on three pitches and with the bases still loaded, Jeurys Familia was called in to get the final out. He got a weak ground out to short and the ball game ended quietly.

On deck:

The Mets conclude their series with the Rockies, going for the sweep on Wednesday with Tyler Matzek taking on Rafael Montero at 7:10pm.
