The Miami Marlins (19-30) defeated the Mets (27-22) by a score of 4-3 tonight at Citi Field.

Despite striking out eleven batters, Matt Harvey‘s fate was sealed early on when Justin Bour took him deep for a three-run home run in the fourth inning.

Altogether, Harvey let up four runs and six hits over eight innings. He fell to 5-3 on the season. Harvey has let up eleven earned runs in his last two starts. He had only let up twelve in his six starts prior to that.

Apart from a pair of solo home runs from Lucas Duda and Curtis Granderson, Dan Haren shut down the Mets over seven innings, allowing only the two runs on four hits and striking out four. One of the bright spots for Miami so far, Haren improved to 5-2 on the season.

In the ninth inning trailing 4-2, Ruben Tejada singled and advanced to second on a wild pitch. He would later score to cut the deficit 4-3 on a bloop double from Daniel Murphy, however, Murphy would be stranded on second, as Michael Cuddyer struck out and Wilmer Flores grounded out to end the game.
