The Mets (2-5) were defeated by the Miami Marlins (3-3) by a score of 2-1 tonight at Citi Field.

Pitching:

Noah Syndergaard got the start for the Amazin’s and dominated, tossing seven innings, allowing only one run on seven hits, while striking out twelve and walking just one.

Unfortunately, Syndergaard was forced to settle for a no decision, as the Mets only gave him one run of support offensively.

Jim Henderson came on to pitch the eighth and struggled for the first time in a Mets uniform, allowing one hit and issuing two walks in just a third of an inning.

Jerry Blevins came on in a jam to bail Henderson out, and allowed the go-ahead run to score on a sacrifice fly.

Addison Reed finished off the long eighth inning, and handed the ball over to Jeurys Familia for the ninth, who despite letting two Marlins to reach base, was able to keep the Fish at bay with only a one run lead.

Offense:

The Mets got on the board early as Lucas Duda hit an RBI single in the first inning off of Jose Fernandez.

Unfortunately, this run would be the entirety of the scoring on the Mets end, as their offensive woes continue.

With the loss, the Mets have dropped four straight games.

On deck:

The Mets will look to salvage the final game of the series tomorrow afternoon, as Logan Verrett gets the ball for the Mets, and will take on Adam Conley. First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 PM.
